PROGRESS NOTES

January 16, 1991

The patient was seen for 45 minutes for individual therapy and medication follow-up. His mother was also seen with him for about 5 minutes. He continues to note improvement and states that although he doesn't know why he just feels better. He is doing more physical activity, has more interest in classes, although he is still having some difficulty in specific classes and has started to have a significant weight gain. He gained over 20 pounds in the last three weeks and is back to his normal weight. No suicidal thoughts have occurred. During this session there were periods of hesitancy where he did not keep the conversation going as much on his own but he became more talkative towards the end. When given the option of scheduling a visit next week or waiting a week, he decided to be seen next week, although his mother was present and non-verbally was encouraging him. I feel after that point he could skip a week. The decision about long term therapy need to be further addressed howerever.
