PROGRESS NOTES
January 30th, 1991
The patient was seen for 50 minutes and his mother for an additional 10 minutes with him. He continues on Norpramin and raised the dose as directed to 100 mg at bedtime. Both he and his mother reported he had a couple of depressed days right after he saw me last week. He is developing more insight into the depressing periods, however, in noting that they do not last the week and tend to go away. He also was able to give some more reassurance to his parents when he was having the depression about how he was feeling and did not appear to show blaming behavior towards them for the feelings. We talked about his interactions with another friend whom he is fed up with and the process of giving and receiving compliments and the difficulties in such communications. I would like hi to continue on the same dose of medication over the next week and will see him at that time.
