“Don't wait until everything is just right. It will never be perfect. There will always be challenges, obstacles and less than perfect conditions. So what. Get started now. With each step you take, you will grow stronger and stronger, more and more skilled, more and more self-confident and more and more successful.”

This is my third video blog which sucks just as badly as my second and my first--ok, my first was the worst, lol (see, I made me a rhyme!) Tootoola!

This is my second video blog. Watch as I am completely bumbling about my room. See three of my four cats. And watch me attempt to use a software program that's not cooperating.

"Yo!" as my daughter might say, "Here's my first video block and it's aaaawesommmme!!!"  Okay, okay, I know, I sound like an old fart trying to fit in with the younger crowd and I suppose there's some truth to that as I don't consider myself as fitting into a certain age as much as I am who I am.  Anyway, below is my first attempt at a Video Blog.  I recorded it using my new JVC camcorder which only uses solid state memory, e.g. SDHC cards.  Why is that cool?  It has absolutely no moving parts that might potentially wear down or be damaged from vibration on a motorcycle.  I'm not quite happy with the interface JVC designed--they really could learn something from Sony.  Something I find ridiculous is that they hail a couple functions of the camera as cutting edge like the fact that it turns on when you open the screen--but what if I want to turn it on when the screen is closed or turn it off when the screen is open?  Frankly, I'm astounded that their website brags about some features which, frankly, either suck, don't work well, or make the unit more difficult to use than competing company's cameras.  Anyway, the choice has been made and overall it's a good one.

So...I don't plan on writing too much on the Video page but this is my first so I wanted to say a few things.  First, this was recorded outside on my deck and there was a fair amount of background noise from traffic so you might have trouble hearing me (I should have tried using the camera's noise reduction function--will do that next time I'm outside).  Second, I'm not exactly comfortable in front of a camera, so you'll have to be patient with me.  Third, as with my written journals I plan to tape these under the "I'm just me" assumption.  Put another way, I don't care a whole lot about what other people think about me because 95% of the time when people judge another person it has less to do with that person than with themselves.  You are free to agree or disagree with my belief in that regard, however that's how I'll be taping myself, no makeup, no getting dressed up, no pretending to be something or someone else, it'll be pure and unadulterated 100% Aslynn S. Meyers at your service!

Enjoy!
