I know, I know, I haven’t written in awhile–and that’s on me.  But in my defense, I’ve been focused on my work, my health, and my photography obsession.  For example, I’ve been putting together another web site dedicated to that obsession.  If you’re really bored you can see what I have now at https://PygmieStudios.com.  Oh, and for those that don’t know, my mother had a fall a month or two ago, broke her leg, and has been in a PT facility ever since, so I’ve been heading to her place every couple of weeks to visit and help my siblings sort things out; this afternoon I head over to meet with them to discuss whether or not she can return home in a wheel chair or if we’ll need to find a “home” for her.  Difficult choices.  A lot of driving.  Not enough energy or photography.

Other than that life has been pretty much ho hum.  I do my best to get through the day and be ready for the next.  Sleep has been so fucked up lately it’s not funny.  I woke up at 6:30am today and just decided I might as well get up and get an early start (I usually do around 9:15am).  Had a few nights of no sleep in the last week, except maybe a short siesta during the day.  Hopefully I’ll be able to sleep tonight in my mom’s guest room (would be easier on a wee bit of Scotch but, as I’ve mentioned before, my reliance on spirits has dwindled enormously and continues to do so).

Hopefully I’ll get my ass in gear and take pictures this afternoon on my trip.  I have an old Russian rangefinder camera I haven’t used yet.  Figure I’ll just push myself to take one photo every time I make a pit stop.  Though I’ve had to be realistic with myself, I can’t shoot film as if it’s digital, it gets quite expensive quite quickly as I noted when I got six rolls back yesterday afternoon.  I love shooting film, but I need to treat it as a desert not as a main course.  But then, I will be picking up my dad’s old camera this afternoon and if the old Canon is still working I will absolutely through a roll in that gorgeous machine.

Anyhow, I need to get back to work, then it’s off to run a couple errands (camera related, of course) then up, up, and over the mountain.

Take care,

Aslynn
