Unexpected Photo Op

August 31st, 2025

Dante’s, a well known club on Burnside in downtown Portland, offers a burlesque show on Sunday nights at 10pm. Since the show is technically on a “school night” I’ve never been able to make it, but this being a three day weekend I grabbed an uber, arrived a little early, kicked back a shot of Jack Daniels with a Coke on the side, and people watched as what I hoped would be an OG burlesque show (something I’d never seen before) evolve into what seemed more a NC-17 strip show cheered on by a rich crowd of Portland twenty and thirty somethings as well as a smattering of much welcome guests. Disappointed with the lack of old school flare I left after two acts only to stumble upon a fleet of photographers surrounding a couple of low riders and scantly clad models outside of Voodoo donuts. Not to be overly presumptuous I asked one if they minded me getting some practice shots in (a huge deal for me given my generally introverted nature). Here are some of the results.
