A long, long time ago in a life time long, long away, my good friend and high school sweet heart, an amazing soul then and now, asked if I’d be willing to take pictures of the Relay for Life in Prineville, Oregon, which she was heading up. I didn’t think twice about it. “Of course!” I replied. I wasn’t walking. I wasn’t offering a cash donation. But as I have so often in my life, I was serving as a witness and capturing those moments to share with others reminding us all that the joy, the effort, and the care that so many of us put in day to day for others should be recognized and acknowledged. Here are my photos from 2007 when hundreds of people stood up to raise money to lead a fight worth fighting for.
