One of my most prized cameras is not a modern digital but is instead a simple wooden box with a teeny tiny pin prick of a hole in it. This has been the simplest design of camera since the advent of film and is an easy project for anyone wanting to play. Want to build your own? All you need is a cardboard box and a piece of aluminum foil and photo sensitive material and wa la, you have a camera! Since the hole is so small pictures can take anywhere from a second all the way up to several minutes or hours to take, depending on how available light there is, but it’s fun as hell! Here’s my pinhole camera and my most recent roll of 120 film from my Zero Image. You might notice “ghosts” in the pictures taken inside as these were taken over many hours.
