A Night at the Local Dive

Last night I walked to the local dive with my new 500mm lens attached to my Nikon Z6ii. A beautiful lens, it uses mirrors which brings the lens weight ad size down considerably. It only allows F8 as the stop so it’s truly a Frankenstein configuration on the camera. Got a few shots in with it, but really need to use it on a tripod for obvious reasons.

I also stepped out of my comfort zone and asked several folks at the bar if I could take pictures. The African American girl was celebrating her 25th birthday with family and friends, including one of the regular bartenders there. Also got some decent pictures of Micheal, another bartender and all around great guy. Finally, got some awesome pics of a girl who identifies as autistic and her friends. We had a great conversation about photography, autism, neurotypicals, and had it not been for her friends I suspect we might have talked for an hour; truly a refreshing conversation.

Enjoy!

P.S. I am a total shit. I’d posted these to Flickr, the Portland Photography Group, and Instagram, but totally bone brained it and posted them here as a “page” and not as a “post” so it never showed up, something I realized when I shared my card with one of my bartenders tonight who, amazingly enough, is in these pictures (isn’t she a sight?!). Anyhow, my apologies.
